“We know that the arts are key to a really vibrant community life,” Satava says, “and if you think about how much the orchestra has been part of this community’s joy during good times and healing during tough times, it’s just such an honor for me to be a part of this huge milestone.”
Greenville Symphony Board President Brittany Timmons said Satava would drive a future for the symphony focused on “long-term financial sustainability, changing demographics and community partnerships.”
Satava most recently served as the executive director of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania and previously served at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and the Aspen Music Festival and School.
